Barbara Cornett has more than 25 years of senior management experience in the fields of corporate finance, education and training, and healthcare. Currently Barbara serves as the CFO for Qorval Partners.
Barbara’s broad array of experience includes management in corporate finance for large healthcare groups comprised of clinics, hospitals and medical practices. Later, as a consultant within the healthcare industry, she focused on turnaround management, successfully providing clients with situation analyses and systematic approaches to improving operations and achieving long-term viability.
With a Masters Degree in International Management, Barbara spent a number of years as a faculty member in international settings. At The Bermuda College and Dubai Women’s College she designed and taught courses in General Business, International Business, and Corporate Finance and Accounting. During her years as a college professor, she worked with local college students as well as serving on college/community relations committees, strategic planning committees, and providing faculty mentor training and staff development.
In addition to a background in education, Barbara has extensive experience in corporate training, particularly in training employees how to use various CRM’s such as NetSuite and SalesForce and in accounting systems such as Quick Books. In both corporate training and education settings, Barbara has designed and developed numerous business management courses at the senior level in finance, accounting, management by objectives, transition (change) management, organizational behavior, cross cultural communications, business communications, developing corporate culture, and upstream and downstream international supply management
Most recently, Barbara held the position of Director of Training for the Institute for Public Private Partnerships (IP3, a Tetra Tech company) an international institute that trains senior government leaders and ministry officials of developing nations in the development and financial management of Public Private Partnerships. The institute holds courses both in-house and abroad and collaborates with The World Bank on international certification standards.
To tie all of this experience and expertise together, one of Barbara’s greatest strengths is communication. She is an adept public speaker who is able to direct and motivate a culturally diverse staff to achieve and exceed organizational goals. As an effective communicator, she is a very strong problem solver and decision maker.
