Mr. Jonathan Trimble, Senior Director, Technology and Cybersecurity
Jonathan Trimble completed a successful 25-year career as a Supervisory Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He holds multiple Digital Forensics and Incident Response certifications, including Intrusion Analysis, Incident Handling, and Advanced Smartphone Forensics. Additionally, he was certified by the FBI in technical surveillance techniques.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Trimble served as the Chief Technology Officer of the FBI Information Management Division. He oversaw the successful development of the FBI Central Records Complex, incorporating artificial intelligence, robotics, business process redesign, high-speed scanning, civil construction, and secure cloud migration. This $220M center was considered to be the most complex project in the FBI, which was completed on time and under budget. He was also the Government Vice-Chair for the ACT-IAC Cyber Community of Interest.
Mr. Trimble led the development of the FBI’s Analytical Platform, integrating disparate intelligence systems to provide the entire 40,000 person workforce with transformational analytic and knowledge management tools.
As Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Norfolk Field Office, he chaired the Port of Virginia’s subcommittee for cybersecurity, and led the development of the port’s cybersecurity response protocols. This plan was used as a model for other major shipping ports throughout the U.S. He also managed all cyber and information technology programs for the field office
Throughout Mr. Trimble’s over two decades as Supervisory Special Agent, he investigated and supervised a vast array of criminal matters including corporate fraud, investment fraud, identify theft, bank fraud, narcotics, violent crime, insurance fraud, bankruptcy fraud, money laundering, intellectual property, insider threats, background investigations, computer crime, and cyber intrusions. He has also investigated counterintelligence, espionage, and counterterrorism matters. He also has provided fraud and cybercrime training to various local, state, federal, and foreign law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies.
